"واجتمع الناس وقرروا أن يبنوا برجًا يطال السماء، ثم…"
يشغل معرض «العالم يهوي» لسمير خداج فضاء غاليري ضفاف والبيت التراثي المجاور «مكان» في بيروت، على مساحة تقارب 600 متر مربع، ويتخذ شكل عمل تركيبي أُنجز خصيصًا للمكان. ويجمع المعرض بين أعمال أُعيد تشكيلها، وأعمال جديدة، ومساهمات لفنانين مدعوين، محترفين وغير محترفين، فضلاً عن رسوم وكتابات أُنجزت مباشرة داخل الفضاء. يفكّك خداج كتابه "بابل"، وينشر صفحاته في أرجاء المكانين، لتتداخل مع أعمال أخرى وتصبح جزءًا من نسيج أوسع من الصور والإيماءات. ومن خلال الرسم والتلوين والكولاج والكتابة والفيديو، يتشكّل فضاء متصل تتفاعل فيه الأعمال والتدخلات والأسطح المعمارية عبر الغرف والجدران والأرضيات. يستمر المعرض من 25 حزيران حتى 27 تموز 2026.

Le Monde Tombe (The World is Falling) is a site-specific installation by Samir Khaddaje presented across Difaf Gallery and the neighbouring traditional house Makan in Beirut. Extending over nearly 600 m²,
the exhibition brings together reconfigured works, new creations, and contributions by invited artists, both professional and non-professional, alongside drawings and writings executed directly within the space.
Samir Khaddaje deconstructs his book Babel and unfolds it across the two venues, where reproduced pages circulate among different materials and works, becoming an integral part of a broader field of images and gestures.
Through painting, drawing, collage, writing and projection, the exhibition forms a continuous environment where artworks, interventions and architectural surfaces interact across rooms, walls and floors.

إشارات واستعارات، علامات ورموز: نتعايش في يوميّاتنا – بين العامّ والخاص – مع أوجه الخطّ واستعمالاته المتعدّدة.
في هذا المعرض، يأخذنا وليد طاهر إلى الشارع، في رحلة لاستكشاف حضور الخطّ العفويّ في الحيّز العام. بينما تعيدنا مريم أبو طالب إلى حميمية الذات، مترجمة الخواطر إلى طلاسم مُركَّبة. بين الخارج المكشوف والداخل السرّي، تخاطبنا أعمالهما بصمت. نتساءل: هل هذا الخطّ الفاصل بين وليد ومريم هو سِتار، أم هو مرآة؟

In this exhibition, Waleed Taher takes us to the streets, on a journey to explore calligraphy in the public space.
While Maryam Abu Talib takes us back to the intimacy of the self, translating inner thoughts into talismans.
Between the exposed exterior and the secret interior, their works quietly speak to us.
We wonder: Is the fine line between Waleed and Maryam a curtain, or a mirror?
